Vision

SODEC envisions the democratically egalitarian society in the new Nepal, where the governance is just and development is a right available to each and every citizen, regardless of race, caste, ethnicity, gender, or the region where one comes from.

Mission

The mission of organization is to identify the root causes of social discriminations, inequities, and injustices which have been suppressing the Nepalese society, and to actively campaign against them to create a just and equitable society.

This mission is executed through a multi-pronged approach that combines rigorous research, media advocacy, and on-the-ground community engagement. We believe that true change is sustainable only when it is driven by the communities themselves. Our work focuses on empowering marginalized voices and providing them with the tools and platforms to demand accountability and justice from all levels of government and society.
